Take a train trip in Canada, says the travel agent

Having worked as an independent travel agent over the past decade, I’ve seen a few changes in how our business operates. Clearly, the Internet has changed the way things are done both for professionals as well as everyday lay persons. One of the most frequent questions I’m still asked is what I recommend in the way of best travel deals.

My response is usually to ask them questions. How much time do you have for your vacation? If they say they’d like to go for an extended travel plan, I am quick to suggest they consider a train trip in Canada. The values are amazing and the vacation never fails to provide for a lifetime of memories.

If I’m asked about beauty and majesty associated with a vacation outing, I’ll often relay my own personal experiences fishing and hiking during a holiday in Lake Louise, Canada. The small village that supports Lake Louise is quaint, lovely and offers tons of activities for visitors year round.

Whether my conversations result in booking of travel for potential clients or just me imparting my experience and knowledge, I always feel good when I can share with new people. Hopefully more folks will consider spending money on vacations in the near future.

Fashion Shoot in Fiji

My brother is a fashion photographer based in New York City. He has an impressive portfolio from working on shoots for big magazines like Vogue, Vanity Fair, and even the swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated. Casey gets to go to some exotic locales to photograph famous fashion models. He’s been to Rio, Thailand, Hawaii, Bermuda, and most recently, he was hired to travel to Fiji!

Casey says the big magazines like to have glamorous locales as the background for their fashion features. Obviously a Fiji resort would be the perfect place to shoot the latest bathing suits and beachwear. I asked Casey if the models were really as fit as they look in his photos. He winked and said the setting was perfect, but every model can use some editing and airbrushing now and then, and even told me who and where!!!! We had a laugh over that.

He also said people think modelling and fashion photography are really glamorous, but some of his experiences in either really hot, frigid , or windy weather, mosquitoes, and long hours are anything but heavenly . Casey works very hard and he really does earn his fee. I know the competition is fierce, so he has to keep up.

The Obvious Choice

Sometimes we get so stuck in our little boxes of thought that it’s difficult to see the solution to our problems even when it is obvious to everyone else. This happened recently with a friend of mine who was trying to decide what she was going to do with her spring break vacation.

She had been offered the opportunity to travel to Miami with some friends for the entire break. They had a place on the beach and they were going to let her stay there really cheap so it was going to be an affordable vacation in a place that she had always wanted to spend some time.

However, she had been planning on taking several swimming classes to get ready for a big swim competition that she’s doing this summer. She kept struggling over what to do with her vacation. Every time I talked with her it was this big debate about swimming classes or Miami. Should I do swimming lessons or Miami? Should I spend spring break at swimming schools or Miami?

I tried to let her puzzle through this herself but finally I just couldn’t take it anymore. I asked her why she didn’t just take some swimming lessons while she was in Miami. A light bulb came on over her head and the conversations came to a halt. She gets back in a few days and I can’t wait to hear how her trip was.

Holiday Tips For First Time Visitors

If this is your first trip to the Rocky Mountains between Alberta and British Columbia you are in for a real surprise as to how much there is to see and do. Planning your holiday in Lake Louise Canada is going to be easy since you have different things to choose from, so everyone can find exactly what they want to do. Planning Ahead For Tropical Vacations

Anyone that lives in a colder climate really learns to dislike the long, cold winter months. One way that I have found to add a bit of summer into the middle of winter is to take a short get away to one of the warmer places. In past years I have enjoyed a Mexico vacation, a great trip to the Caribbean and also two all inclusive vacations to Cuba. Each vacation is memorable and special, although there are definite differences in the three.

My friends always ask me which location I would recommend and although it sounds like a bit of ducking, I honestly would recommend all three locations. Each has their own unique features such as the sport fishing in Mexico, the wonderful food and entertainment of the Caribbean Islands and the great cultural and historical sights in Cuba. In addition all the areas have wonderful beaches, terrific people and of course warm, tropical weather. If you are planning on taking a southern vacation this winter, keep in mind that the packages sell out quickly so be sure to book in advance. The peak tourist season is from early December through the end of March, with Christmas being the most in demand season. For the best selection of hotels and accommodations you do need to book at least several months in advance, with some of the resorts booked almost a year ahead.
