Summer Vacation in California

Last summer I went to visit my Grandpa in Carlsbad, California where he lives. I wanted to go to the beach as soon as I got there and try to surf for my first time. My grandpa is the best surfer and has lived in California by the sea for his whole life. He is a very successful business man and has an incredible home that he says are called live work lofts. He said that it is the newest way to save money and time by working and living in the same structure. I told him that whatever it was called, I wish we had the same type of Carlsbad lofts in Indiana where I live.
When we got to the beach, my grandpa told me what to do when I am out there on the surfboard. When I got out there, I got scared and just lay on my stomach on the board and floated and watched him. It was still fun just watching him. After we left the beach, we went to this really cool Japanese style restaurant where they cooked the food right in front of us. It was fun and tasted good too.
Back at school after summer break was over, our teacher told us to write about what we did over the summer. I wrote this story of visiting my grandpa. I told about our surfing adventure, the Japanese place and that he has one of the best looking townhomes in Carlsbad.
